I have finally decided what tablets to use for my experiment so i decided to use 4 different type of pain medications in order to see the difference in time it takes to dissolve.

So i decided to use

Panamax

Panadol

Panafen Plus

and Advil

February 4th

After consultation with my teacher about my ideas for my SRP plans, I had determined that my idea for my SRP would be the Dissolving of Tablets in Hydrochloric Acid as it is the most common acid present in the stomach. Over all my ideas this had the most understandable reasoning to that idea being that what ever tablet that dissolves the fastest would give the fastest pain relief. Whereas my other ideas didn't have any reasoning about why i would do those ideas.   

Day 3

After some thought about my new idea, I still intended to use the idea of dissolving tablets in a form of acid so after some research I found that there is traces of sodium chloride also known as salt in the stomach and as once you swallow a tablet it travels through to your stomach. Once I ran this idea by the teacher she followed up on my research and actually discovered that hydrochloric acid is the main acid that is present in the stomach. Due to this I considered my experiment being the dissolving of tablets in hydrochloric acid.

Day 2

February 2nd

Today I thought about an idea for my SRP which was to dissolve four different pain medications in lemonade to see which tablet will dissolve the fastest in order to give faster pain relief. With this idea I chose tablets as it is something I have always been curious about how fast tablets dissolve in liquids such as soft drink. Although I liked my idea, when i ran it be the teacher she informed me that there was no reasoning behind why I wanted to dissolve tablets in lemonade specifically meaning I needed to change my idea into a different liquid or experiment all together. I intended to think of something new so I could start preparing my plan to get a head start on my assessment.

Day 1

February 1st

Today we received and went through the assessment notification for the first Science assessment for 2016 being an Student Research Project consisting of a Plan due on the 24th of February, and a Experimental Report and a Blog due on the 23rd of March. We are to think of an experiment and have a reasoning behind our experiment. Over the next few days I wish to think of an idea for my experiment and to get it approved in order to start my plan and experimental report.
